Anna Sommer is a writer, educator, and integrative healing practitioner whose work lives at the crossroads of story, embodiment, and transformation. She holds a BA in English, an MS in Adult Education, and an MFA in Writing, and is also a licensed massage therapist, yoga and meditation instructor, and somatic coach. Her work is rooted in the belief that writing is both art and medicine – a place where the body’s stories are given voice.
Metamorphosis
Poems about betrayal, grief, and healing.
Metamorphosis is a journey through betrayal, grief, and the tender work of healing. These pages follow the journey from collapse to clarity, from self-doubt to self-trust, from heartbreak to hope. These poems are proof that what shatters can also transform.

Anna will be hosting a free workshop at the Healers Festival.

Story Medicine: A Somatic Writing Journey
We live and learn through story. Story offers us a frame through which we give shape and meaning to our lives. Yet some stories become stuck in our tissues, buried in our bones, or carried through generations in ways that keep us tethered to someone else’s past.
Story Medicine is an invitation to journey inward through gentle movement, breathwork, embodied awareness, and reflective writing. Together, we will practice tender listening to the wisdom of the body and the stories waiting to be heard beneath the surface. Through guided somatic exploration and writing prompts, participants will uncover hidden narratives, reconnect with their authentic voice, and discover new possibilities for healing, meaning-making, and transformation.
No writing experience is necessary – only a willingness to listen, explore, and be curious about what lives within.
